The region of Uluwatu, down south in Bali is famous for its white sand beaches, surf waves and tropical island calm vibes. We have listed for you the best beaches in the area for you to decide where to spend your time and select the beach that reflects your personality the best.
1 - Melasti beach π
On top of our list, we have Melasti beach which is a very accessible; with beautiful white sand. The area also features a large parking and instagram worthy photo spots.
Not to forget the new beach clubs now present in the area for you to make the most of your time in Uluwatu.
2 - Gunung Payung π
Relatively new on the popular beaches scene of Uluwatu, Gunung Payung is a lesser known spot where both tourists and locals enjoy a relaxing, quiet vibe.
Activities there include kayaking, swimming and just overall beach relaxation.
The area also feature an amphitheatre which you will walk through if you decide to go down to the beach by foot ( < 10mins walk). Alternatively, for a fee, you can take a shuttle bus to reach the beach.
3 - Pandawa beach π
Pandawa is one of the larger beaches in the southern part of Uluwatu.
It features cliffs, statues and a wide range of amenities.
You can come relax on sunbeds, enjoy a dip in the clear blue water and sip on a fresh coconut.
4 - Nunggalan beach π
One of the least developed beaches in the southern coast of Bali and Uluwatu; Nunggalan might be difficult to access if you are not coming by bike (the road down to the beach is not accessible to cars).
The white sand beach has very little amenities with the exception of locals selling fresh drinks under a tree or small wooden hut.
It is also famous for having part of a ship-wreck sitting on the beach.
5 - Nyang Nyang beach π
Often mistaken for Nunggalan beach, Nyang Nyang is a beach visited by surfers and travellers alike to enjoy its quiet atmosphere.
It is famous for having a decommissioned plane sitting on top of a cliff, visible from the beach.
6 - Padang Padang beach π
Located in the west side of Uluwatu, this beach is probably one of the most popular among international tourists thanks to its calm blue waters, shaded area and overall preserved natural aspect.
7 - Dreamland beach π
Also one of the favorite beaches for tourists. Its fine sands attracts all for a relaxing day.
The waters there might be a bit rougher than other area, so swim with caution.
8 - Balangan beach π
Balangan found its notoriety in its many features: a beautiful cliff which you can explore and snap pretty awesome photos from. Secondly: its white sand beach lined up with bar and small restaurants.
Lastly you will also find a little crowd of surfers catching waves in Balangan.
9 - Bingin beach π
Bingin is a smaller beach on the west side of Uluwatu. It encompasses what a Bali beach is: small bar / restaurants; a blue, moderately wavy sea and a beautiful sunset.
